 The Region
The McLaren Vale wine region has long been known as a place to relax and indulge in premium food and wine. The region has become well known for its Food & Wine Festival which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Viticulture in and around McLaren Vale is influenced by a range of diverse landforms, soils, climates and both traditional and cutting edge technology. Vineyards span from the hills to the Gulf of St Vincent giving a range of aromas and characteristic flavours which winemaker's source to create wines unique to the region.
The climate around the Lopresti Vineyards can be described as Mediterranean, characterised by warm summers, moderate winters dominant by rainfall (580-700 mm per annum), low humidity and relatively high evaporation.
Our vineyards are situated on the out skirts of McLaren Vale in the Aldinga and Willunga regions. Lopresti Vineyards consist of six different properties with various amounts of acreage and varieties of vines. |
